2026 Ford Bronco towing capacity
US & CanadaEvery rating Ford publishes for the 2026 Bronco, read from Ford's own documents, in pounds and kilograms.
How much can the 2026 Ford Bronco tow?
Ford rates the 2026 Ford Bronco to tow up to 4,500 lb (2,041 kg) on a ball hitch in one configuration: 3.0L EcoBoost V6, 10-speed automatic, 4-Door: Raptor, 4.70 axle, at 10,650 lb GCWR, with Tow Package 2, standard on Raptor. Source: Ford, 2026 RV & Trailer Towing Guide, Bronco trailer towing selector, PDF p. 40. Maximum payload is 1,417 lb (643 kg) (Ford, 2026 RV & Trailer Towing Guide, Bronco trailer towing selector, PDF p. 40). The highest conventional tongue load Ford publishes is 450 lb (204 kg) (Ford, 2026 RV & Trailer Towing Guide, Bronco trailer towing selector, PDF p. 40).
A maximum is one truck, not yours. The rating that applies is the one for your exact cab, bed, engine, drive, axle and packages, and it is printed on the labels in the driver's door opening. Find your row in the table below, then check payload and GCWR as well: a truck often runs out of payload before it reaches its tow rating.

What the Bronco needs to tow its rating
These come from Ford's own documents, cited in the sources below.
- Ford: trailers over 2,000 lb need dealer-installed towing equipment, and Ford says the New Vehicle Limited Warranty may be voided if you tow without it.
- The Trailer Tow Prep Package is included on every model except Raptor, but the hitch receiver, wiring and trailer module are dealer-installed ("Requires dealer-installed OEM trailer and hitch receiver option"). Raptor includes Tow Package 2 as standard.
- Hitch receiver ratings printed by Ford: Bronco 3,500 lb with 350 lb maximum tongue load; Bronco Raptor 4,500 lb with 450 lb.
- Combined weight of the vehicle and trailer cannot exceed the listed GCWR. Ford rates Bronco with the SAE J2807 method.
- Frontal area limit: 30 sq ft with dealer-installed towing equipment (tow rating 3,500 lb or less) and 40 sq ft with Raptor Tow Package 2.
- Ford's 2026 Bronco spec sheet gives maximum payload from 1,067 lb (2-Door Badlands, automatic) to 1,417 lb (4-Door Base 2.3L, manual); Raptor 1,155 lb.
- Ford's 2026 four-wheel-down chart lists Bronco (automatic and manual) as flat-towable.
Payload, tongue weight and GCWR: the limits you hit first
Our guidance, not a rule. This is how the ratings above fit together, not a figure from Ford.
The tow rating is only one of five limits. The trailer's tongue weight sits on the truck, so it comes out of payload along with every passenger and everything in the bed, and it loads the rear axle. The truck and trailer together must stay under GCWR. A truck with a big crew and a full bed can reach its payload or GCWR with a trailer well under its tow rating. Run your own numbers in Can I tow this?, which checks all three at once and names the one you hit first, or work through them one at a time with the payload calculator and the tongue weight calculator.
2026 Ford Bronco towing capacity in Canada
Not verified against a Ford Canada document for 2026; the figures above are Ford's US towing guide and US specifications.
On a Canadian truck the certification label gives GVWR in kilograms, labelled both GVWR and PNBV (Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (C.R.C., c. 1038), s. 6(1)(e)(i)). The figures to trust are the ones on your own door opening.

Footnotes: hybrid transmission maximum speed 70 mph and select Neutral Tow mode; on some models start the engine and let it run a few minutes at the start of each day and every six hours or fewer, shifting D then R then N; 4x4s need the transfer case in neutral and a 2-speed transfer case.
