2026 Ford F-150 towing capacity
US & CanadaEvery rating Ford publishes for the 2026 F-150, read from Ford's own documents, in pounds and kilograms.
How much can the 2026 Ford F-150 tow?
Ford rates the 2026 Ford F-150 to tow up to 13,500 lb (6,123 kg) on a ball hitch in one configuration: 3.5L EcoBoost V6, SuperCrew, 157.2 in WB, 4x4, 3.55 axle, at 19,400 lb GCWR, with Tow/Haul Package (53T) and optional Max Tow Axle. Source: Ford, 2026 F-150 Towing Information (v4), conventional and 5th-wheel tables, PDF pp. 1 to 5. The highest fifth wheel or gooseneck rating is 11,700 lb (5,307 kg) (Ford, 2026 F-150 Towing Information (v4), conventional and 5th-wheel tables, PDF pp. 1 to 5). Maximum payload is 2,440 lb (1,107 kg) (Ford, 2026 F-150 Towing Information (v4), conventional and 5th-wheel tables, PDF pp. 1 to 5). The highest conventional tongue load Ford publishes is 1,400 lb (635 kg) (Ford, 2026 F-150 Towing Information (v4), trailer tow packages, hitch receivers and required equipment, PDF p. 6).
A maximum is one truck, not yours. The rating that applies is the one for your exact cab, bed, engine, drive, axle and packages, and it is printed on the labels in the driver's door opening. Find your row in the table below, then check payload and GCWR as well: a truck often runs out of payload before it reaches its tow rating.

On the hybrid page Ford prints 7,100 in the GCWR column for the rows without the Max Tow Axle. That cannot be a combination rating for a truck that tows 10,800 lb, so we left those GCWR cells blank rather than guess. Ford Canada's guide prints 17,100 lb for its hybrid rows.
What the F-150 needs to tow its rating
These come from Ford's own documents, cited in the sources below.
- Ford, on every conventional table: do not exceed a 5,000 lb trailer without a weight-distribution system.
- Gas F-150 trailers over 11,600 lb need the Tow/Haul Package (53T) and the optional Max Tow Axle; on the PowerBoost hybrid the line is 10,800 lb. Ford warns the New Vehicle Limited Warranty may be voided if you tow without them.
- Receiver: the standard 2 in receiver is rated 11,600 lb, and the Max Tow Axle brings a reinforced 2 in receiver rated 14,000 lb. Ford's chart: 5,000 lb trailer and 500 lb tongue weight-carrying, 13,500 lb and 1,400 lb weight-distributing (the latter with the Tow/Haul Package and Max Tow Axle).
- Ford sets tongue load at 10% of the loaded trailer weight and fifth-wheel king pin load at 15%, and both count against payload, the rear GAWR and GVWR.
- Trailer frontal area: 55 sq ft at a tow rating of 7,700 lb or less, 65 sq ft above that, 75 sq ft for any fifth wheel or gooseneck.
- Fifth wheel: not recommended on the Raptor. A 5.5 ft box accepts a fifth-wheel hitch, but Ford says most fifth-wheel trailer designs are not compatible with it.
Payload, tongue weight and GCWR: the limits you hit first
Our guidance, not a rule. This is how the ratings above fit together, not a figure from Ford.
The tow rating is only one of five limits. The trailer's tongue weight sits on the truck, so it comes out of payload along with every passenger and everything in the bed, and it loads the rear axle. The truck and trailer together must stay under GCWR. A truck with a big crew and a full bed can reach its payload or GCWR with a trailer well under its tow rating. Run your own numbers in Can I tow this?, which checks all three at once and names the one you hit first, or work through them one at a time with the payload calculator and the tongue weight calculator.
2026 Ford F-150 towing capacity in Canada
Ford Canada's 2026 F-150 towing guide prints the same 13,500 lb maximum, the same 2,440 lb payload, the same gas engine tables and the same receiver ratings. It differs on the PowerBoost hybrid: Canada lists only SuperCrew 4x4 hybrids, at up to 11,600 lb on a 3.55 axle, where the US guide also lists 4x2 hybrids at up to 12,400 lb. On a Canadian truck the certification label gives GVWR in kilograms, labelled both GVWR and PNBV (Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (C.R.C., c. 1038), s. 6(1)(e)(i)). The figures to trust are the ones on your own door opening.

The 13,500, 12,400 and 12,800 lb figures are footnoted as requiring the Tow/Haul Package and Max Tow Axle upgrade. Tongue load should be 10% of loaded trailer weight, king pin load 15%. 5th-wheel towing is not recommended for Raptor. Gas pickups need that package and axle for trailers over 11,600 lb, the hybrid for trailers over 10,800 lb, and the guide warns the New Vehicle Limited Warranty may be voided if you tow without them. Maximum trailer frontal area: 55 sq ft at a tow rating of 7,700 lb or less, 65 sq ft at 7,701 lb and above, 75 sq ft for all 5th-wheel and gooseneck use. - Ford Canada, 2026 RV & Trailer Towing Guide, F-150 Pickup section: The Canadian 2026 F-150 guide prints the same engine maximums as the US guide (13,500 lb for the 3.5L EcoBoost, 2,440 lb payload) except the PowerBoost hybrid, listed at 11,600 lb, and its hybrid table covers SuperCrew 4x4 only: 10,800 lb at 17,100 lb GCWR, and 11,600 lb at 18,400 lb GCWR with the Tow/Haul Package and Max Tow Axle, in both the 145.4 in and 157.2 in wheelbases, all on a 3.55 axle. The gas engine tables and the receiver ratings (5,000/500 lb weight-carrying, 13,500/1,400 lb weight-distributing) match the US guide. Quoted: "When properly equipped.
