2026 Jeep Gladiator towing capacity
US & CanadaEvery rating Jeep publishes for the 2026 Gladiator, read from Jeep's own documents, in pounds and kilograms.
How much can the 2026 Jeep Gladiator tow?
Jeep rates the 2026 Jeep Gladiator to tow up to 7,700 lb (3,493 kg) on a ball hitch in one configuration: Sport, 3.6L V-6, 850RE 8-speed automatic, 4.10 axle, at 12,850 lb GCWR, with 4.10 axle, standard on the Sport Max Trailer Tow Group. Source: Stellantis, 2026 Jeep Gladiator Specifications, Towing Capacities, pp. 8 to 9 (axles pp. 2 to 3). Maximum payload is 1,720 lb (780 kg) (Stellantis, 2026 Jeep Gladiator Specifications, Towing Capacities, pp. 8 to 9 (axles pp. 2 to 3)).
A maximum is one truck, not yours. The rating that applies is the one for your exact cab, bed, engine, drive, axle and packages, and it is printed on the labels in the driver's door opening. Find your row in the table below, then check payload and GCWR as well: a truck often runs out of payload before it reaches its tow rating.

What the Gladiator needs to tow its rating
These come from Jeep's own documents, cited in the sources below.
- The 7,700 lb rating is the Sport with the 4.10 rear axle; Jeep's spec sheet lists the 4.10 axle as standard on the Sport Max Trailer Tow Group, Mojave and Rubicon.
- Sport with the 3.73 axle is rated 6,000 lb, footnoted "If equipped with ADH Tow Package".
- Jeep defines the GCWR on these rows as base weight plus maximum trailer weight plus 150 lb for the driver.
- Owner's manual: a fascia or bumper mounted ball limits the trailer to 3,500 lb, 20 sq ft of front area and 350 lb tongue weight, and you must never exceed the maximum tongue weight stamped on the bumper or hitch.
- The owner's manual prints no trailer weight table; it sends owners to jeep.com (jeep.ca in Canada) for the ratings.
Payload, tongue weight and GCWR: the limits you hit first
Our guidance, not a rule. This is how the ratings above fit together, not a figure from Jeep.
The tow rating is only one of five limits. The trailer's tongue weight sits on the truck, so it comes out of payload along with every passenger and everything in the bed, and it loads the rear axle. The truck and trailer together must stay under GCWR. A truck with a big crew and a full bed can reach its payload or GCWR with a trailer well under its tow rating. Run your own numbers in Can I tow this?, which checks all three at once and names the one you hit first, or work through them one at a time with the payload calculator and the tongue weight calculator.
2026 Jeep Gladiator towing capacity in Canada
Not verified against a Stellantis Canada document for the 2026 Gladiator; the figures above are from the US specification sheet.
On a Canadian truck the certification label gives GVWR in kilograms, labelled both GVWR and PNBV (Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (C.R.C., c. 1038), s. 6(1)(e)(i)). The figures to trust are the ones on your own door opening.
