Toyota Canada: "If gross trailer weight is above 5,000 lb (2,268 kg), it is necessary to use a weight-distributing hitch with sufficient capacity."
A "Class-IV towing hitch receiver and wiring harness with 7-pin/4-pin connector" is listed as standard on every 2026 Tundra grade on toyota.com.
The SR, with the 358 hp version of the i-FORCE V6, is rated 8,300 lb in every cab, bed and drive combination.

Payload, tongue weight and GCWR: the limits you hit first

Our guidance, not a rule. This is how the ratings above fit together, not a figure from Toyota.

The tow rating is only one of five limits. The trailer's tongue weight sits on the truck, so it comes out of payload along with every passenger and everything in the bed, and it loads the rear axle. The truck and trailer together must stay under GCWR. A truck with a big crew and a full bed can reach its payload or GCWR with a trailer well under its tow rating. 2026 Toyota Tundra towing capacity in Canada

Differs. Toyota Canada's 2026 Tundra i-FORCE Product Information lists lower figures than toyota.com, for example 5080 kg (11,199 lb) for a 4x4 Double Cab regular bed SR5 or TRD Off Road and 3760 kg (8,289 lb) for the SR. Canadian i-FORCE MAX figures were not verified.

On a Canadian truck the certification label gives GVWR in kilograms, labelled both GVWR and PNBV (Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (C.R.C., c. 1038), s. 6(1)(e)(i)). The figures to trust are the ones on your own door opening.
